I have always loved stories, being read them or making them up myself.
The magic of a story makes anything possible, even pink hair or animal best friends!
When people ask what I do, I say I draw pictures and write stories; I tell them I have the best job in the world.
I don't tell them that in the last month this has also involved drinking about 200 cups of tea, 90 cups of coffee, (don't even ask about my chocolate biscuit consumption) and walking determinedly through many miles of Surrey countryside while trying to work the kinks out of a story.
They might think that was a bit odd...
In 2016 I graduated with a Distinction from the MA Children's Book Illustration course at Cambridge School of Art.
Since then my work has been Longlisted in the Klaus Flugge Award for best new illustrators (2019), Highly Commended in the Macmillan Prize (2016) and shortlisted in the Bridgeman Studio Award (2016).
